Customer Service – Friday 15 March 9.15am-4.00pm This is a level 2 accredited qualification designed for anyone working or preparing to work in a customer service role or where using the telephone is a part of their role. The course covers the principles of customer service including how to meet customer expectations, the importance of appropriate behaviour and communication techniques, as well as ways to deal with problem customers. It is an intense course and requires a minimum of 6 hours attendance. This is an excellent course to enhance your CV and increase success at interviews. There is a short multiple choice test at the end. Photo ID required The cost is £10 unwaged or £50 waged.
Safeguarding of Children and Young People – Friday 22 March 9.30am – 3.15pm This course is designed and delivered at Level 2 to give everyone who works with, or has contact with children, young people and/or their families an introduction to safeguarding children and young people. Those attending will gain knowledge and awareness in: legislation and guidance; the recognition of child abuse; identifying the barriers to children and adults; reporting concerns; knowing how to respond and report concerns; who to contact when there is a concern; fulfilling ‘duty of care’; safe practice and keeping children and young people safe. The cost is £10 unwaged or £50 waged.
Paediatric First Aid – Saturday 23 February 9.00am – 4.30pm or you can choose Saturday 23 March 9.00am – 4.30pm This is a two day course. One day in the classroom and one day online, working from home or the library. The online element has to be successfully completed before the day in the classroom. You can chhose the 2 day course in February or the one in March. This qualification is designed for anyone who works with children in a paid or voluntary capacity. It is a level 3 course/qualification awarded by ProTraining and meets the Ofsted requirements for Childminders and all other childcare workers. It costs £35 to individuals and £50 if attending from a workplace. It is essential to bring photo ID on the day – your passport, driving licence etc.
Emergency First Aid Friday 22 February 9.15am – 4.15pm This is a one-day level 3 course. The qualification covers the roles and responsibilities of the first aider and how to assess an incident; first aid skills in CPR and use of an AED; providing first aid to a casualty who is choking; and dealing with external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock. This is a certificated course and the awarding body is TQUK. The cost is £10 unwaged or £50 waged It is essential to bring photo ID on the day – your passport, driving licence etc. There is a short multiple choice test at the end.
Food Safety – Industry standard qualification Friday 01 March 9.15am – 4.15pm. This is a level 2 course designed to equip anyone working or planning to work in the service industries with an industry standard qualification in food safety and handling. It is an intense one day course. Topics covered include, how individuals can take personal responsibility for food safety, the importance of keeping themselves clean and hygienic, the importance of keeping work areas clean and hygienic and the importance of keeping food safe. This qualification is necessary for anyone working with food and is useful to enhance your CV. It costs £10 unwaged or £50 waged. It is essential to bring photo ID on the day – your passport, driving licence etc. There is a short multiple choice test at the end.
