The Somerville are looking for applicants with life experiences, empathy and the ability to relate to children and young people. It can be challenging work at times but very rewarding. They’re looking to recruit to the following positions:
1. Stay in school project officer– To deliver a new project working with groups of children/young people at risk of being excluded from mainstream education or having difficulties, who will attend our site to get in involved in a varied programme of activities/interventions in order to gain life skills and encourage them to make positive life choices in order to remain in full-time education. The programme will run for one day per week during term-time.
Salary: £3,794 per annum (Fixed term for one year; possible extension subject to further funding being secured), the post will commence from September 2019. Hours: 7.5 hours per week (40 weeks of the year + school term time)
2. Sessional Future Talents Project Worker– To deliver an element of a new exciting project working with young people 14+ from BAME backgrounds to develop their social and life skills, inspired by work opportunities as well as coaching and mentoring for every step of their journey. Sessional rate: £15 per hour (Approximately 4/5 hours per week)
