Dyslexia is a learning difficulty that primarily affects the skills involved in accurate and fluent reading and spelling. Dyslexia affects people with a wide range of intellectual abilities and it can have a serious impact on self-confidence and esteem. Some of the symptoms are: – unexpectedly poor reading compared with the individual’s general ability – problems remembering sequences such as the order of the days of the week, telephone numbers and appointments – bad spelling, poor handwriting and being disorganised. If you can identify with these symptoms in yourself or your child why not attend our workshops on understanding dyslexia and developing strategies to cope. We have trainers from the British Dyslexia Association delivering two workshops on Friday 28 September. Book your place now. And remember, Albert Einstein was and Whoopi Goldberg is dyslexic, so you are in good company.
