The London Wildlife Trust manage a number of nature reserves in Lewisham and south east London. They are mostly the remaining bits of the Great North Wood which once covered a huge area between Deptford and Selhurst.
The reserves are open to visitors (some have set opening times though) and the Trust also depend on volunteers to maintain the sites. This includes clearing, cutting, mowing, building steps, and making paths – something for everyone and a day out in nature!
There’s more information about the Great North Wood on LWT website.
